Rain or Shine It's Patch Sprint Time

Willsboro, May 23-- With four days remaining until the start of the 2005 Patch Sprint Race & Party weekend, the online hype is reaching it's ultimate, overbearing, obnoxious peak.  In the days ahead, look out for:     *  Danny Sheridan's Race Predictions     *  A Final Bulletin to all Registered Participants     *  Updated Course and Weather Conditions    "The forecast doesn't look too great right now," says amateur meteorologist Ken Ryba.  "It will be cloudy and cool all week with a chance of showers on Saturday."  Regardless of the weather, "The show will go on," announced Race Director Sandra Solomon.  "In 2003, it rained all weekend.  Everyone raced and trekked, everyone partied, everyone had a great time!"

Added racer and camp administrator Chris Durlacher:  "It rained all last summer at camp, but the sun was always shining in the skiies above, if you get my metaphor."    Race co-founder Tim Singer was more direct:  "The race is still five days off.  The forecast is wrong.  It's gonna be 71 degrees, partly cloudy with the sun peaking through at times."                                (right- Trekker Augusta Wilson was all smiles despite the rain in 2003)

Heading into the weekend, the weather is the last thing on the minds of most participants.  Here's what they are saying:

Thank you.   (Ed Bunk) My Clydesdale status will not be determined until Race Day, and will probably hinge on whether I stop at the New Baltimore rest area on the way up. (Ben Stanley) Willow wants to solo the Kinder Sprint... I know the kid can do it, as this toddler races around the house in record speed, and loves to go up and down ramps and stairs; and Pok-O is just a huge stairway with lots of ramps, right? (Marianne Parreault) Hey Goat, I am volunteering Blue Boar Hellhockey Team services to provide beer for all participants, volunteers, and fans on top of POKO. (Kate Durlacher) Still attempting to pay someone off to work for Memorial Day weedend. I'm sure I will be down on Friday.
