| HIGH-CLASS SHOE DESIGNER ALIGNS WITH PATCH SPRINT | ||||||||||||||||||||||
| Park Avenue, New York, NY-- Jimmy Choo, the designer of luxury women’s footwear, has offered one million dollars to any runner who wins the Patch Sprint wearing a pair of its shoes. Company founder Jimmy Choo stated he “wants to demonstrate that these shoes are not just for the N.Y.C. nightlife.” The company has offered the prize to the overall winner as well as the winner of the overall female division. “Our shoes are of the highest quality and are strong enough to take the abuse of a 12 mile trail race” stated Choo. | ||||||||||||||||||||||

| Racing in a pair of Jimmy Choo’s is not easy. First, a racer needs to obtain a pair which typically run over $500. Anna Studebaker, PatchSprint.com’s fashion expert and owner of the fish shoes, was contacted and asked the best way to obtain a pair. The Studebaker plan, as it has now been called, involves a boyfriend, flights to California, and dinner with parents but due to space limitations, the exact details have been withheld. The second difficulty with racing in a pair of Jimmy Choo’s is the loss in speed. Studebaker estimates that Choo’s will knock off at least three minutes per mile. “Your pace will be slower but not as slow if you were wearing a pair of Miu Miu’s” Studebaker added. Several Patch Sprint veterans are seriously considering the offer including Jay Fiegl and Kate Durlacher. Durlacher is excited about the opportunity. Currently, there are only two other females registered in the open division. “I’ve spent a fair amount of time in heels.” stated Durlacher, “and my training program has now switched to high heel speed workouts, hill repeats, and overdistance runs.” Fiegl, who finished over 15 minutes ahead of the competition in 2005, said he “thinks he can pull this off but wishes it was cowboy boots instead.” |
