| Hollywood Producer Jerry Bruckheimer Announces Plans For Film About The Patch Sprint | |||||||||||||||||||||

| Hollywood, CA - Uber Hollywood Producer Jerry Bruckheimer (National Treasure, Pearl Harbor, Armageddon, Conair, The Rock, Flashdance) has optioned the rights to produce a film that will spin the spirit of the Patch Sprint into celluloid gold. Mr. Bruckheimer heard about the "invigorating nature of a wonderful event out East" (The Patch Sprint) from some top Hollywood brass. He bought the rights immediately. | |||||||||||||||||||||
| The Patch Sprint is an annual event that takes participants on a scenic 12-mile trek / run / hike up and down four mountains that make up the Pok-O-MacCready Pok-O Patch: Bare, Rattlesnake, Sugarloaf, Pok-O-Moonshine. It occurs annually on the last Saturday of May (Memorial Day Weekend) in Willsboro, NY and has grown in popularity each year as a Pok-O-MacCready Alumni Event. It also serves as a fundraiser to the Adirondack Scholarship Foundation, an organization devoted to helping children in need of financial assistance attend camp. Last year, the Patch Sprint raised over $1300 for the Adirondack Scholarship Foundation. | |||||||||||||||||||||

| Mr. Bruckheimer was most impressed with the welcoming family feel of the Patch Sprint. "From what I understand, attending the Patch Sprint each year evokes the same feelings as coming home for the Holidays or, to a lesser extent, creating a perfect explosion or music montage on film." Mr. Bruckheimer would like to begin principal photography at this year's Patch Sprint so he can capture the true essence of the event. | This year's installment of the Patch Sprint is extra-special, because it marks 20-years since Jody Edwards and Doc Browning first walked the entire Patch Sprint Course (1986 - then referred to as "Patch in a Day"), and 10 years since Tim Singer and Greg Henderson rekindled "Patch in a Day" and called it "The Patch Sprint" (1996). Pok-O-MacCready Alumni, Counselors, and Friends are encouraged to come to Willsboro Memorial Day Weekend (May 26-29) to be a part of Patch Sprint weekend and possibly be included as extras in the filming. Filming will not prevent the Patch Sprint from continuing with its normal line-up of weekend events, including the race expo / carbo load dinner (6:30 pm, Friday, May 26), the event itself (Saturday, May 27), post-race party (6:00pm Saturday), and the Alumni Workday (Sunday, May 28).
