Daley Taco Night Donations: To cap off an exciting weekend, the Daley family is once again hosting a Patch Sprint Memorial Day party, Sunday May 28, starting mid-late afternoon. Please pitch in a few bucks to help offset the cost of food, drink, and party favors. Raffle Tickets: Raffle tickets will be on sale at the race expo for prizes donated by individuals and supporting organizations. Prizes include: A GPS; a telescope; a Pok-O-MacCready blanket; various athletic gear and clothing and more. Raffle prizes will be selected during the post-race party. 3-time Patch Sprint Champion Jay Fiegl will be on hand to share his thoughts on what it takes to win the Patch Sprint. Fiegl attributes his success not only to endurance training but also to his mental training program. Come ask about the mind exercises Jay uses for peak performance. Secrets of the Patch Sprint Raffle Peter Joelson will share tips on winning raffle prizes in the Patch Sprint Raffle. Joelson has won more prizes in the raffle than any other participant in the history of the Patch Sprint. Save a Sato The Sato problem is an epidemic in Puerto Rico. Sato is slang for stray and abandoned dogs. Thousands of homeless dogs roam the streets of Puerto Rico. Poko’s own SATO will be available to discuss the Sato epidemic and describe rescue efforts being made to give Satos a second chance. First-Time Sprinters Be Warned 11-time Patch Sprint veteran Tim Singer will share route maps and provide advice to Patch Sprinters attempting the course for the first time. Skip will describe the course, provide tips, and answer questions. If you are unable to attend the seminar, remember to stick with someone who knows the course. 46er Mailing Label Training The 46er mailing label system is an efficient and cost-saving technique that has been in use for many years. ADK46er Treasurer Phil Corell will answer questions on reading and understanding your mailing label membership information. Please bring your mailing labels for answers regarding individual accounts. High Tech Gadgets in the Adirondacks Marianne Perreault, contributing writer for Backpacker Magazine, will share her experience using GPS linked cell phones in the Adirondacks. Marianne has plotted unique routes throughout the Adirondack Park using this new high tech gadget. Come hear about her routes and about the advantages and disadvantages of this new technology. Because it’s Saturday Protesting in America has moved beyond clever chants and poster board. Come learn about the art of a successful protesting and the importance of cell phone text messaging. Dave Durant will lead the discussion and a mock protest outside of Robinson Hall. Erik Zimmerman will be protesting environmental damage on the Patch Sprint course, and selected members of Blue Boar Hellhockey will be on hand to protest the results of the 2006 winter Patch Sprint, which leads us to….. Blue Boar Hockey- WE WIN! Members of the Blue Boar Hellhockey team will be on hand to share stories and sign autographs. The Hockey Academy Waterville Valley Novice Tournament Champions trophy will be available for pictures. Vendors Hundreds of vendors will be displaying products and providing free samples to Patch Sprint participants. Among the exhibits: Heins Family Dentistry, Doc’ Ol’ Kinda Cookies; Peru Nordic Masters and teampatchsprint.com. Leave plenty of time to work your way through the exhibition hall. |
