2006 MERCHANDISE UNVEILED Swag Includes T-Shirt; Medallions

Keesevile, NY, May 7--  The action will be heated on May 27th in Willsboro, so it's only the fitting that the logo for the 2006 Patch Sprint will be a quartet of action figures.      The Fantastic Four- Bare, Rattlesnake, Sugarloaf ("The 'Loaf") and Pok-O will greet racers, trekkers and volunteers come event day.  The idea was conceived by Patch veteran Amy Kobak, with the design coming from husband Jim.  The Kobaks have been responsible for every T-shirt design since 2001.  (see past logos).      For the 11th consecutive year, the T-shirt will be cotton.  The decision was reached following a heated discussion amongst the Patch Sprint Board.  In summary, Sharp Swan voted for 50-50; Tim Singer favored Cool Max; Greg Henderson opted for a cycling jersey; Mike Daley wanted a race singlet; Sandy Solomon pushed for a sports bra; Jay Fiegl was advocating a tie-dyed design.  In the end, the Kobaks two votes won the majority.      In related news, Loreman's here in Keeseville has announced that each finisher of the 2006 Patch Sprint will receive a finishers medallion.  As always, the top three finishers in each division earn "World Champion of the World" medals.  The fastest female will get the MacCready Fitness Trophy and, of course, the fastest overall time earns the "Janny."

"We're very excitted about the new T-shirt design, and the addition of the medallions to our collection," stated race co-founder Greg Henderson.  "However, we have only ordered 100 of each.  So far, we have 88 registrants, 76 of whom are slated to race or trek.        "There's a chance we can do a supplemental order, but no guarantees.  You better register soon"
