MEET THE PATCH SPRINTERS
Five Questions with.....     Jenna Zimmerman
Veteran KinderSprinter Jenna Zimmerman is a Seneca.  That's fine except for one thing:  Her father is an Onondaga; Her Mother is a Cayuga; Her brother is a Mohawk and her sister is a Tuscarora.  In the past four years, every tribe has won Indian Games, except for the Seneca.  In this most competitive of families, this does not sit well.
Jenna, 9, of Fairport, NY will look to exact some revenge at this year's Patch Sprint.  A fourth place finisher at the 2005 KinderSprint, she will be going up against both her brother and sister this year in the division, while her parents will be covering the entire course.
1. WHAT IS THE BEST PART ABOUT THE PATCH SPRINT?
Almost all of my family is part of it and I love seeing so many
friends, like Chad and Nora.

2. WHAT IS THE BIGGEST CHALLENGE OF THE KINDER SPRINT?
Having to leave the party at the top.

3. WHAT IS YOUR TRAINING REGIMEN FOR THIS EVENT.
Playing outside a lot.

4. WHAT ARE YOUR GOALS FOR THE 2007 RACE?
To have fun.

5.  ARE YOU MORE COMPETITIVE, LIKE YOUR FATHER OR DO YOU JUST ENJOY
A NICE HIKE, LIKE YOUR MOTHER?
I enjoy a nice hike.
                                          WHERE'S THE BEEF?

While registration for the 2007 Patch Sprint has been active, the only division not represented- thus far- is the Clydesdale Division.  This is somewhat surprising given the fact that over the past few years, Clydesdale's has been quite popular.  "I still can't believe I won last year," said Ken Ryba, who despite being close to 300 pounds (at the time), used the division time handicap to better some faster, yet thinner runners.
As to why he's entered in Masters instead of Clydesdales, Ken "Squeaky Herz said, "My weight is dropping faster than Bush's approval ratings, but I'm still slower than the completion of a Cloudsplitter Carpentry job."  Herz, is pictured at left with another former Clydesdale-turned-Open runner, Erik Zimmerman.
By race day, officials expect the division to be contested, most likely by the beefed-up Chris Durlacher or Jim Kobak, pictured right.  "I've never won a division, "said Durlacher.  "I figure I may as well put on some pounds.  It woked for Stanley and Maher!"
