PATCH SPRINT REVEALS 2007 LOGO
T-shirt to reflect former communist powers
In 2005 it was Blue Boar.  This year, it’s Blue Borat, as the Patch Sprint is bloodier, bolder and an even more evil empire.
The famed adventure race, scheduled for May 26 in Willsboro, New York is taking a page from the former Olympic powers of eastern Europe, by showcasing a logo that appears unusually similar to the communist red that adorned the sweaters of the high powered former Soviet hockey teams.
“We are looking to encourage athletic excellence,” stated t-shirt designer Jim Kobak.  “With all this emphasis on parties, social gatherings, expos and reunions, we feel that the Patch Sprint has lost its elite competitive edge.”  Kobak, a student of the former Soviet sports machine didn’t hide his nostalgic sentiments.  “Where’s the intimidation?  Where are the steroids?  Aside from the hockey loss to the USA in Lake Placid, and that improbable upset of Ivan Drago by Rocky Balboa, the USSR sports program was as powerful as there’s ever been.  That’s what we’re looking for here at the Patch Sprint.”
                     UNLIKELY INSPIRATION

Kobak first came up with the idea while running in the 2006 race alongside Blue Borat, an eccentric, elite racer from the tiny former Soviet republic of Pohkymkraidistan.  Mr. Borat impressed Kobak with his enthusiasm and colorful quotes.
“I love coming to the Patch Sprinters and making sexy time with the long legged ladies,” boasted Borat.  “Back in glorious nation of Pohkymkraidistan, when I buy my wife, uhhm, at the start she was uhh, cook good, she strong on plough. But after three years when she was, uh, fifteen, then she become weak, her voice become deep.  So I come here to the Sprint Patches to meet USA womens.”
Blue Borat will be back to race again in 2007.  “Thank you for watch me race again.  My strategies is to stay behind good looking girls.  When you chase a dream, especially one with plastic chests, you sometimes do not see what is right in front of you.

“My country send me to United States to make good racing. Please, come and see me run. If I not success, I will be execute.”
