LATEST PATCH SPRINT FACTS and FIGURES
Willsboro, May 1-- As of the start of May- 24 days prior to the the Patch Sprint Race, Trek and Celebration- an expected record field of racers, trekkers, volunteers and friends have registered for the 2007 event.  (See list of Who's In).
Below, you will find the latest Patch Sprint news, information, facts and figures.
                              THE SPIRIT OF GIVING
With the registrations comes a generous spirit of giving to the Patch Sprint's benefactor:  The Adirondack Scholarship Foundation.  The Foundation provides financial assistance to families, so that children may enjoy a summer camp or outdoor educational experience.  In 2006, the Patch Sprint raised 2,500 dollars.
Late last night, an $80 donation pushed the 2007 figure over one thousand dollars.  Several thousand more are expected to be raised as a result of a unique program;  all trekkers and racers will earn two dollars per completed mile of the course. (

To date, ten people have registered to volunteer for the Patch Sprint.  In 2006, there were 17, and "we'll need at least that many again with our growing numbers," stated a concerned Sandy Solomon, event Director.
Required volunteer positions include:  aid station attendants; timers, starters; party planners; sherpas; registration; general chores and assistant to the race director.
“All volunteers will receive free admission into both the pre-race dinner, and the post-race party, awards ceremony and slide show,” Solomon said.
    Prospective volunteers may
register online.  If you are interested in having a “choice” volunteer position, you may contact Solomon here.
