2008 Patch Sprint News, Stats and Quotes

A recent squall of registrations has rocked the Patch Sprint.  With prospective racers, trekkers and volunteers looking to get in before the price went up, 44 people entered the event during the last three days of April.  The 2008 Patch Sprint is scheduled for May 23-25, in Willsboro.  Here are some of the facts and figures surrounding the entrants:

BRESLER TAPPED AS RACE STARTER      Long time volunteer Matt Bresler has been promoted to official race starter and timer for the 2008 event.  "All of our other volunteers defected to the trekker division," said Tim Singer.     For his part, Bresler is "practicing the countown.  I already tend to mumble quite a bit, so the 'uh go!' part shouldn't be a problem."

RACE ODDS Odds against winning the "Janny" as overall champion have been posted, and will be updated periodically leading up to the race.
