NEW START TIME
Designed to Accomodate Young Trekkers
Willsboro, NY (May 17)-  With more than 100 trekkers, racers and Kindersprinters- widely ranging in terms of age, size, speed and goals- Patch Sprint officials have added a fifth start.
Non-competing hikers who feel they need a bit of a head start on the field are free to begin their trek at 7:30am.  "We've been tossing this idea around for a few years," said race director Greg Henderson, "and when we got a request a few days ago, we decided to go with it."
                                 EARLY BIRD START

The supplemental start is scheduled for 7:30am.  However, it will be an "informal, unofficiated start," according to Henderson.
The early time is for trekkers only; more specificly, young trekkers who are being accompanied by their parents.  This year's Patch Sprint has realized a huge increase in trekkers who are ages eleven and younger.  The following policies are in effect for the early bird start:

- You must give advance notice (please Email us with your request.

- The official race starter will not be present at the start.  Likewise, there will not be an official Bare mountain timer in place at that time and, possibly, a Rattlesnake timer.  Trekkers are responsible for keeping their own time.

-  Aid supplies at the 1812 Homestead will not be available, at least for the first pass-through.
