Essential Information
What is the Patch Sprint?: The Patch Sprint is an annual event in which participants climb all four Pok-O-Patch  mountains (Bare, Rattlesnake, Sugarloaf, and Pok-O-Moonshine) in one day.  The length of the course is approximately 12 miles. Race fees for the event are kept to a minimum so that supplemental donations will go directly to the Adirondack Scholarship Foundation to help children  attend Pok-O-MacCready summer camp.  To learn more about this great event, read about its HISTORY.
Location: Camp Pok-O-Moonshine, Willsboro, New York, The Adirondacks.
Eligibility: To be eligible, participants must be either:
A)  A member of the Pok-O-MacCready "Family" (camper, staff, alumni)
B)  A camp friend or guest making a donation to the Adirondack Scholarship Foundation.
Date and Start Times: Saturday, May 23, 2009
-8:00am - "Non-competing" Trekkers and Runners
-9:00am - Start time for anyone who would like to complete the course in 3.5 - 5hours.
-10:00am - Start time for anyone planning to take 2-3.5 hours (any
racers who finished  sub-3 hours in 2007 must start at 10:00am)
-11:00am - Kinder Sprint begins at the base of Mt. Pok-O-Moonshine.
The Starting Line(s): Patch Sprint Starting area = Stone Pillars at the entrance to Camp Pok-O-Moonshine. 
Kinder Sprint Starting area = Base of Mt. Pok-O-Moonshine.
Fee: $25 for all racers and trekkers$35 after April 30.  Preferred payment is online after registering. All participants will receive a T-shirt if registered by May 15... $10 for Kindersprinters...  $5 per individuals attending only the evening post-race party. 

     The mandatory fee will cover the costs of the aid station supplies, T-shirts, awards and prizes, post-race party, and administrative costs.  Additional donations to the Adirondack Scholarship Foundation are encouraged.
Divisions: There will be several divisions in the Patch Sprint 2009. Please be sure to specify your division when you fill out the registration form. Click here for more detailed information on the divisions.

Open Male - Individual Men's Divisions: All ages.

Masters Male- 40-years of age and up

Open Female - Individual Women's Divisions: All ages.

Clydesdale - Over 200 Lbs (90.9 kg, or 14.31496 Stone)

Trekker - For any individual or group who would like to hike all four mountains in a non-competitive, leisurely manner.

Kinder Sprint- A race up the trail of Mt. Pok-O-Moonshine (1.2 mile well-marked course).  Must be aged 10 or under to participate.
Official Rules: Please read all Patch Sprint Rules before you register.
The Course: The Patch Sprint Course begins at the pillars located at the entrance to Camp Pok-O-Moonshine and ends when you reach the top of Mount Pok-O-Moonshine (approximately 12 miles). 

-However you can get from the starting line to the finish line by touching the true summits of all four mountains in order (Bare, Rattlesnake, Sugarloaf, Pok-O-Moonshine, and crossing through the northway tunnel), without the use of car, truck, bike, rollerblades, boat or any other device beside yourself, that is the course.

-The Kinder Sprint covers the final 1.2 miles of the course (begins at base of Pok-O-Moonshine and finishes at summit of Poko)
Awards: Medallions go to the top three finishers in each division.  The women's champion receives the "MacCready Fitness Trophy".  The overall fastest time (from the 10:00am start), irrespective of division, receives the coveted "Janny".  Special recognition awards are also handed out.
Aid Stations: Aid Station locations and supplies may be found on the Patch Sprint Official Rules page.  Some Aid stations will have volunteer personnel; please be sure to thank them as you refuel.

Pre-Race Day Festivities: On Friday, May 22, 2009 at 6:30 p.m., there will be a pre-race carbo loading dinner. The Race Director will go over the general rules, the course, and answer any questions you may have. The carbo loading dinner will be held in the Robinson dining hall at Camp Pok-O-MacCready.  The dinner will be preceded by a race expo.
Post-Race Festivities: There will be a post-race party, awards ceremony, and slide presentation on Saturday beginning at 6:00 p.m. with plenty of food and beverages for all at Robinson Hall.
Lodging: at Pok-O-MacCready camps will be available only for registered racers, trekkers and volunteers.
Registration Deadline: In order to provide sufficient amounts of aid station supplies and T-shirts, please register by April 30, 2009.  Late registrants will be charged an additional fee and will NOT be guaranteed a T-shirt.  Participants may register using the on-line registration form (see below).
