Davis Claims Second Winter Title

3/12/2020

2017 Patch Sprint champion Sean Davis has taken the winter title for the second time in three years.

Davis, a Willsboro native, recorded the second fastest time in the history of the winter sprint, completing the four mountains in two hours, 43 minutes and 48 seconds.

"I didn’t run with my phone so I didn’t get any pics, but it was such a beautiful day, sunny and 50, perfect running conditions between the mountains but still quite a bit of snow and ice on the trails, particularly going up Pok-O."

The winter record of 2:36:11 was set by Jason Fiegl and Jan Wellford, in equally favorable conditions in 2016.

In December, three-time Patch winner Cole Starkey outpaced a record winter group of seven runners to take the early season lead, in a time just over three hours.
