As the icy remains from a harsh, late winter rapidly melt, the trails of Bare, Rattlesnake, Sugarloaf and Pok-O are finally peaking through-- just in time to host enthusiastic runners and trekkers training for the May 24 Patch Sprint.
The annual BEAST training series opens Tuesday April 8; this year's theme is "Animated Classics", with the opening event featuring Charlotte's Web. Event organizers write: "Competitors will score BEAST Points for their efforts in each training race, as well as score points for the dishes they bring to each tailgate potluck. The dish should match the theme of the event.
"The series is a family friendly event, even if you don’t want to run in the training races, families and friends of the BEAST and the Patch Sprint are encouraged to join the racers for the post-race potluck tailgate party each week"
