PictureJay Fiegl and Cole Starkey: 2017 Winter Sprint Champions
Aside from a bit of ice, the Patch Sprint course is reported to be in great shape for a run at the 2018 Winter Sprint championship.  Racers have until March 21 to make a successful completion of the course.

This winter to date, there have been just two recorded attempts, and no successful completions of the Winter Sprint.

The rules for the winter sprint are largely similar to the regular race, with the most notable exception being that a participant may use skis or skates, as well as pick the order in which to complete the four mountains.

The course was first successfully completed in winter by John Rayburn, in 1991; the record of 2:36:11 was set in 2016 by Jason Fiegl and Jan Wellford. In 2017, Katie Moffett (below) set a new record for the women's winter Sprint (see record book HERE).

Successful winter sprinters are requested to CONTACT the Patch Sprint with times and, preferably, photos.
