The field of racers and trekkers for the 2013 Patch Sprint closed out the same day registration opened to first-timers, March 15.
Since then, only three people have dropped out of the race, while over 25 have signed up to be on the waiting list. Race officials hope to accomodate as many as possible.
"We are exploring all possibilities. We'd love to add a few spots but, due to logistics, insurance and environmental impact, we must keep numbers at a certain level."
Prospective racers and trackers, who are on the waiting list, will be contacted in the event that an opening occurs.
Meantime, just over a handful of spots remain for volunteers, guests and kindersprinters. The cutoff will be based on total number of attendees for the Saturday meal, as the facility can only hold so many people.
