As of today, the 2013 Patch Sprint has exceeded the $9,000 mark for donations, and the 200 mark for total participants.
"This is awesome," raved event co-founder Greg Henderson. "Even with the racer-trekker field filling up six weeks ago, we've had lots of volunteers and guests sign up!"
Mostly, the number has been padded by out of town donors who can't make the event, but are giving in the name of participants. "One guy received four donations today alone, and a couple of racers are closing in on the quilt!"
Only four spots remain for any participants- volunteers, guests, kindersprinters and chaperones- as the meal and lodging numbers are near capacity. Once that number is reached, the door will be closed on 2013 entrants, including those racers and trekkers who remain on the waiting list.
