![]() As expected, there was a mad rush of first-time Patch Sprinters signing up for the Patch Sprint on this, the first day for newcomers to register. As a result, by 11:00 in the morning, the field of racers and trekkers had reached capacity. "This was not unexpected", said event co-founder Tim Singer. "Over 140 returning participants had already signed up, and we knew, from advance communication, that there were a lot of new racers chomping at the bit to get in!" For now, registration remains open for Kindersprinters and their chaperones, volunteers, donors and guests. In the meantime, a waiting list has been set-up for all prospective racers and trekkers who have been shut out. This is the earliest ever date for the event to reach capacity, having closed out on March 18, in 2012. "If this is like past years," said Singer, "then we anticipate several people dropping out, opening the way for those who are on the waiting list. Priority will be given to signing up early, as well as generous donations to our foundation!" Earlier Every YearComments are closed.
