The Patch Sprint Championship was cancelled in 1998.  A terrible Ice Storm in January of that year caused severe blow-down on the trails of the Patch Sprint.  Although many of the trails had been cleared for use by the Pok-O-MacCready Outdoor Education Center, several had still not been attended to, and would have posed a dangerous threat to participants vis-a-vis branches in the eye, so on and so forth.  That, and not much training had occurred throughout the Spring of 1998, rendering potential participants to the as-yet unadvertised event sloth-like and in no physical shape to expose themselves to the rigors the Patch Sprint naturally forces upon the body and the mind.  Thank you for considering "1998 Results."
